A large-scale "oppose evil cult and uphold human rights" photo exhibition was held here in Chinese Embassy in Jakarta Dec. 6, 2001, drawing many attendees from political, media, cultural and religious circles of the local community.
 
  The photo show was divided into three main parts, namely, Li Hongzhi and Falun Gong, the Danger of the Falun Gong Evil Cult, Eliminate Falun Gong Evil Cult and Uphold Human Rights.  
 
  More than 100 photos were on show at the exhibition to reveal the serious damages caused by Falun Gong as well as Falun Gong’s evil nature of anti-human being, anti-science and anti-religion. Lots of examples demonstrated on the exhibition proved that the Falun Gong claiming “ truthfulness, benevolence and forbearance” was, just like the other cults in the world, gaining fame by deceiving the public, doing all kinds of evil and provocative.
 
  Mr. Xiao Zhengrong, Charge d’Affaires ad interim of the Chinese Embassy, said in a speech that since 1992 till 1999 when Falun Gong was banned, the number of Falun Gong practitioners who suffered from mental disorders had gone up constantly. Among those who believed in Li Hongzi’s heretical ideas, some died for delayed treatment, some even committing suicide, and some becoming brutal killers for mental disorders.
 
  Mr. Xiao said, while Falun Gong claimed that they just practiced for strengthening their bodies and were not involved in politics, they had been looking around for some sensitive times and places to stir up trouble. Their political purpose was very clear.
 
  Mr. Xiao also briefed the attendees the event happened in Tiananmen Square Nov. 20, 2001 on which 35 foreigners, including one Indonesian, created trouble. He pointed out that it was provocative against all the Chinese people that foreigners protested illegally in Tiananmen Square. Chinese Government and people would never tolerate it. Any nations of sovereignty and order would not tolerate it and would also take necessary actions if the same case happened in their countries.
